PRESS STATEMENT Contact: Laura Thibault January 18, 2012 Office: 603-228-1224 Cell: 603-254-3341 NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire Statement on HB228 Laura Thibault, Interim Executive Director Today’s vote shows just how extreme this legislature is and how sorely out of step they are with New Hampshire’s values. This legislature should be working on policies that will help prevent unintended pregnancy and the need for abortion, not making it harder for women to access reproductive health services. Creating barriers to access contraception, cancer screenings, and other basic care, especially during hard economic times, is unconscionable. New Hampshire residents want legislators to focus on fixing the economy and job creation. It’s time for them to stop playing politics with women’s health. We urge the Senate to reject this extreme bill that does nothing but punish low-income women and men who rely on clinics like Planned Parenthood of Northern New England for preventative health care. ### NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire is the state's largest grassroots organization dedicated solely to reproductive rights; we have been working to protect choice since 1977.
