Biased Counseling Requirement for Abortion heard before the NH House Health and Human Services Committee.
Statement of NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire Political Director, Liza Dube CONCORD - “NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire absolutely believes that all women deserve complete and medically accurate information about all medical procedures, including abortion. Fortunately, health care providers in New Hampshire who offer abortion care services to women, already present complete and medically accurate information about all options to women facing crisis pregnancies. We oppose HB 399-FN on the basis that health care providers would be required to present medically inaccurate information to patients regarding abortion. Furthermore, the bill would institute a 24-hour state mandated delay to create yet another barrier for women in rural New Hampshire to access abortion care. In short, this bill seeks to intimidate women from exercising their constitutional right to choose.”
