Our Talking Points On Repealing Parental Notification!
Contact your local legislators and tell them why you want Parental Notification repealed! Parental Notification (HB763), which passed in 2003, has been ruled unconstitutional by three separate courts because it fails to protect a young woman’s health. Governor Lynch has pledged to sign a repeal of this bad law and a non-partisan group of legislators is working to get a repeal bill passed through the legislature in the next few weeks. Our Talking Points on Parental Notification Repeal: --Three Federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court, have ruled the parental notification statute unconstitutional based on its failure to include a health exception. --The health and safety of teens is our primary concern, this unconstitutional law does not protect teens. --If the law is not repealed, a Federal District judge will be forced to re-write the statute. --Legislators should vote for the repeal of this law so New Hampshire can focus energy and resources on other important issues. --The House Bill that would repeal the law is called HB 184.
