2012 Legislative Internship January to June 2012 8-15 hours per week 1. Review the House and Senate calendars for information related to NPCNH’s priority bills. Alert Executive Director to actions regarding priority bills. 2. Update legislative tracking spreadsheet with scheduled hearings, etc. 3. Organize research on bills. Maintain files. 4. Create and format talking points for different audiences—legislatures, NPCNH members, and press. 5. Create materials for legislative peer-organizing for each bill and each phase of legislative campaign. 6. Update legislative database with roll-call votes. 7. Update website, facebook, and create email messages to our members regarding legislative activities. 8. Create phonebank materials, including scripts, for grassroots outreach. Supervise phonebanks. 9. Write reflection for newsletter on internship. Skills: Meticulous attention to detail. Experience creating and managing spreadsheets with Excel. Enjoys making phone calls. Ability to ask questions and take direction easily. Requires complete confidentiality. Work is done primarily in NPCNH office in Concord.
